The first rule of travel blogging is that anyone can become a travel blogger. But, only if they are ready to be fully committed.
Being a travel blogger involves a lot of talking to people, networking, and being up until 4 am. If you are ready for all of this, read the tips listed below.
1. Think About Your Target Audience
Do you know for whom you’ll be writing for? Do you know how to reach your target audience most efficiently and effectively?
2. Think About What Makes YOU Different
There are thousands of travel blogs out there. What are you going to do to stand out?
3. Choose a (Domain) Name for Your Blog
What is going to be the name of your blog? Is the domain name available? If you already have the name, be sure to create social media handles 一 cover Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Flipboard, even YouTube (people love watching videos!).
4. Choose a Web Hosting Provider
If you are planning on being a serious travel blogger, I would suggest you choose self-hosted WordPress, which means that you have to find a WordPress theme, and a hosting provider.
5. Choose the Right WordPress Theme
I would suggest you take a look at Themes Kingdom WordPress themes. These guys are awesome!
6. Customize Your WordPress Theme
Keep in mind that your website design is the first thing visitors see when they get to your blog. You need to impress them and make them want to read your content.
I would advise you to do a bit of research on how you can make your blog pretty and easy on the eyes.
7. Create Excellent Content
Excellent content is the one that can find its way to readers’ hearts. So, every time you write, do it wholeheartedly, put your mind and soul into it, and your readers will recognize honesty, passion, and drive.
Oh, and you’ll have to learn the basics of SEO, and how to drive traffic through Google, so do a bit of research on that.
8. Promote Your Content
Although creating excellent content can help you build your readers list, the truth is that only promotion can help you reach the top. Be prepared that this step requires a lot of hard work, especially if you are a travel blog newbie.
